Information for book clubs
Thank you for considering To the Moon and Back for your book club! I’m happy to visit book clubs via Zoom, organized via the link below.
Fun for book clubs!
Suggested playlist: Songs Inspired by To the Moon and Back
Suggested snacks: Please enjoy this list of TTMAB-themed food and drink ideas!
Suggested activity: looking through a telescope, or watching live footage from the International Space Station online
Suggested attire: “understated moon costume” (like Bookseller Lyn from Square Books in Oxford, Mississippi!)
Suggested short videos: thisand thisinspired two settings in the book (vague to avoid spoilers).
Suggested times of year to host a TTMAB book club meeting: LGBTQ+ Pride Month (in June), LGBTQ+ History Month and Indigenous People’s Day (both in October), Native American Heritage Month (in November), or…a full moon
Suggested behind-the-scenes reading:
Here, I wrote about the inspiration for writing a forward-looking story about Cherokee women.
Here, I wrote about what I learned in (mostly) my 20s, while coming-of-age and writing my first novel (slowly!).
And here, in an Instagram post, I wrote about publishing a first book and becoming a new parent in the same year.
Logistics for book clubs
Discussion questions can be found here.
If your book club reads paperbacks, the paperback edition will be released September 8, 2026, and is available for preorder.
If your book club has at least four people in it, I’d be happy to sign bookplates and mail them at no cost (along with some stickers!). Just click here to let me know.
Copies of the novel are in stock here at my local independent bookstore, Parnassus Books. Please write in the “notes” section of your order that you’d like a signed copy, and that I said I’d be happy to come in to sign it.
